About Us

Takotook is a Canadian federal non-profit building a home for Iranian-Canadian culture in the making, and for anyone curious enough to walk in alongside it.
 

We produce live music in Toronto. Curated nights where established and emerging artists share a stage, where heritage meets contemporary sound, and where the room matters as much as the lineup. Our programming runs from jam nights built on improvisation, to spotlight shows with established artists, to evenings that push toward rock and electronic edges.
 

We do this for the artists and for the community. Artists here deserve real infrastructure: paid work, professional recordings they own outright, an audience, and each other. And a diaspora deserves somewhere to gather that opens outward rather than closing in a place where the culture is being made rather than preserved.
 

Belonging is our foundation. Excellence is our ceiling. The community that shows up is the engine behind both.
